Check out the Manufacturing Technology Image Gallerywhere you can see more pictures from the 2004 and 2003 PSU College of Engineering and Computer Science Annual Design Competitions.

The Manufacturing Technology course prepares students for entry level positions in welding and steel fabrication industries. Training includes tool and equipment safety, blueprint reading, layout, template development, and completion of fabrication projects. Technical instruction incudes: oxyacetylene welding; brazing, soldering, stick, MIG, TIG, and flux core welding; metal lathe operation and set up; milling machine operations; and basic sheet metal instruction.

Cooperative work experience is available to industrial metals students and serves as a practical laboratory to reinforce in-school occupational training. Students also participate in local skills competitions. Vocational Village Manufacturing Technology students may rapidly advance to journeyman positions with continued education and vocational upgrading of welding certifications.
